Is Professor in Sociology at Goldsmiths College, University of London.  Her books include Feminist Imagination: Genealogies in Feminist Thought (Sage, 1999) and Culture and Performance: The Challenge of Ethics, Politics and Feminist Theory (Berg, 2007).  As well as an interest in feminist, social and cultural theory, she has been working recently on the ethics and aesthetics of memory and transitional justice in Argentina and in Northern Ireland, and has published articles on this topic in journals such as Cultural Politics, Journal of Visual Culture and Theory, Culture & Society.
